Staff Software Engineer, Clinical Data Platform
- Req Number: 4955289
About Us
One Medical is a primary care solution challenging the industry status quo by making quality care more affordable, accessible and enjoyable. But this isn't your average doctor's office. We're on a mission to transform healthcare, which means improving the experience for everyone involved - from patients and providers to employers and health networks. Our seamless in-office and 24/7 virtual care services, on-site labs, and programs for preventive care, chronic care management, common illnesses and mental health concerns have been delighting people for the past fifteen years.
In February 2023 we marked a milestone when One Medical joined Amazon. Together, we look to deliver exceptional health care to more consumers, employers, care team members, and health networks to achieve better health outcomes. As we continue to grow and seek to impact more lives, we're building a diverse, driven and empathetic team, while working hard to cultivate an environment where everyone can thrive.
The Opportunity
As a Staff Engineer in our Data Department, you'll be architecting and building solutions that impact how we store, process and share data at the organization level and beyond. You will be responsible for setting standards and providing technical vision for our company-wide data flow. You'll work with teams across our engineering organization on a new event bus design and data processing infrastructure. Your core objective will be helping the company standardize our data processes and support our migration from the monolith to a service-oriented architecture with our clinical patient data stored in our Clinical Data Platform (CDP).
You'll design and build new functionality for the Clinical Data Platform, which is written in Go on top of DynamoDB and Elasticsearch and is designed to be the single source of truth for clinical data stored according to the FHIR R4 standard. You'll partner with stakeholders across the company in clinical quality, operations, internal & external interoperability, and engineering to drive the wider adoption of the platform across the organization and improve quality of care for our patients and our partners. You'll have the opportunity to help set the short and long term direction of not only CDP/FHIR but the whole organization including the future of healthcare data and interoperability.
Ultimately you'll help us drive industry-wide systems away from antiquated communication standards and encourage adoption of the latest and greatest healthcare standards. You'll drive mission critical projects forward by becoming a recognized go-to expert on FHIR standard, integration best practices, and by providing the tools that will enable other teams at One Medical and beyond.
What you'll work on:
You'll be set up for success if you have:
Not required, but would be great if you also had
Taking care of you today
Protecting your future for you and your family
